We love it when our alums return to visit, especially when they share their work! Last week, Sam Sax ’09 and Fiona Warnick ’22 joined the creative writing department to read excerpts from their respective recent publications, "Yr Dead" and "The Skunks." "Yr Dead" was Longlisted for the National Book Award, which is an incredible accomplishment. Sam is also the two-time Bay Area Grand Slam Champion, has received fellowships from The National Endowment for the Arts, Yaddo, and Lambda Lit, and is currently serving as an ITALIC Lecturer at Stanford University. Fiona's "The Skunks" was significantly praised by well-known book reviewers such as TIME and The New York Times. And guess what? It began as a class project here at Oberlin! Sad you missed this event? The creative writing department hosts plenty of author readings; next up is Felicia Zamora on March 12, followed by Aisha Sabatini Sloane on April 16.
