Happy Anniversary, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center! 🥳 We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings. Moved by the plight of tuberculosis patients who flocked to Arizona, the Sisters of Mercy initially opened St. Joseph’s Sanitarium in a six-room cottage that they’d rented in downtown Phoenix. A few months later, they gathered enough resources to begin construction on the Valley’s first hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital.
