It was 20 years ago when the shooting at Columbine took place. Through that tragedy came the lesson that we need a reporting system to capture threats to harm individuals (or oneself). As an article in thecoloradosun this week reported, a "study several years ago showed that 81% of shooters broadcast what they’re going to do prior to an attack. And that was before the advent of social media. These days, that number would likely be higher than 90%. That’s where reporting programs come in."
