Louisiana inmate Jessie Hoffman Jr. was executed using nitrogen gas on Tuesday — the first execution in the sate in 15 years. 46-year-old Hoffman was convicted in the 1996 murder of Mary “Molly” Elliott, a 28-year-old advertising executive in New Orleans.
