Criminal records hold survivors back, impacting their ability to obtain employment, housing, custody of their children, pursue education, benefits and financial assistance, immigration relief, or adjustment of status and family stability. A criminal record also acts as a constant reminder of their trafficking experience and confronting that can cause re-traumatization. Survivors are routinely burdened with numerous records in multiple jurisdictions, requiring a comprehensive national approach to ensure that survivors have access to the full range of relief in a trauma-informed and strategic way. We stand with survivors and hope you will consider joining us in advocating for criminal record relief for those forced to commit crimes while under the control of their trafficker. Donate at the link in our bio to help survivors reach the future they deserve. #Dressember #Dressember2022 #humantrafficking
