#WomensHistoryMonth: Dr. Tiffany Jefferson is a nationally acclaimed choreographer, educator and cultural storyteller who uses the power of dance to teach, preserve and elevate Black excellence. A native of Oklahoma City, she currently serves as director of dance at Hinds Community College, where she founded the institution’s first-ever dance program and continues to grow it as a model for Mississippi and the region.
A proud graduate of Jackson State University, Jefferson earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership with a focus on higher education, following a master’s degree in dance education from Wichita State University. She also received a bachelor's degree in business marketing from Oklahoma State University, where she was crowned Miss Black Oklahoma in 1996 and named an All-American collegiate cheerleader.
