Dozens of residents were out in Downtown Fresno on Thursday to protest the planned dumping of toxic waste and hazardous materials in the Central Valley.
The protests took place at Fresno City Hall.
Organizers of the protest say they are taking a stand against the Department of Toxic Substances plan to dump hazardous waste across the state without proper environmental oversight.
District 1 Fresno City Council Member Annalisa Perea was in attendance at the event, and said that the city of Fresno will not be a dumping ground for the waste.
