For Emily, our Abbott teammate, being a paralympian for Team USA in Women’s Wheelchair Basketball was a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a dream of mine.” A dream that will finally come true in one week as she takes center court in Paris. Basketball has always been an important part of Emily’s life — even a bone cancer diagnosis when she was 12 years old couldn’t stop her.
