Thankfully, United defender Aoife Mannion possesses both of these qualities. In 2019 and 2022, Mannion was sidelined with such injuries but on both occasions overcame them to represent United. “I had to draw on different motivations [the second] time, just thinking 'let’s make the most out of this single opportunity today, to invest myself in the rehab and then I can relax later,’” she said.
