My 2024 season capped off at athlos this week and it was a dream! I’ve been to a fair share of meets in my career and I’ll always cherish this one for the way it made me feel 🩷 I usually leave a meet focused pretty much entirely on how the race played out and how that result applies to training and expectations of myself going forward but this one is just different. The energy was different, the hype beforehand was different, the support we received was different and the attitude surrounding each of us who were set to compete was so fun and communal and, well, different. As race day approached and we were all at a photo shoot, I felt my distance runner brain red alert that I needed to go to bed and rest and fuel and focus.
