We live in a world of immediacy. The latest and greatest mirrorless cameras only pushes that agenda harder these days. But not even THAT that long ago, film was the only option. I love talking with my racing photography colleagues about what it was like to process and develop film in a hotel room after a race or qualifying session. To not know if you nailed that 1/20 pan until a few days or weeks later. But yet their images are as good or better than any I see today.
My dive into film this year is purely for fun, likes and clicks. It has no bearing on my professional work at all. Along the way, I’ve had a few internet randos be upset that I would use such a cheap camera with the access I have to these events and races. And that it’s been a “waste” to not use a better film camera and better glass. But these cheap cameras have given laughs and looks and smiles that no other film camera would have....
