An enchanted spider web cake reminiscent of the garden after a deep soaking summer rain. One of my favorite garden allies has always been spiders. I am especially fond of orb weavers. The gardens of my youth always had one. She was elegant and still. She made her presence known by bouncing so politely when you would get too close to her exquisite abode. I messaged Carolyn back in the winter and said “I want to do a spiderweb cake. I want to have a dark green frosting, almost hunter green. Then I’m going to attempt to make two spiderwebs, clear and like a rain-soaked web. There will be no spider, just cobwebs and fresh flowers with the green background.
