While the dog days of summer are still months away, hundreds of Golden retrievers brought warmth to Golden’s Parfet Park on Saturday, February 8, for the city’s annual Goldens in Golden event celebrating National Golden Retriever Day. 🐕 National Golden Retriever Day was February 3, but the event is always scheduled on a nearby Saturday. Washington Avenue from 10th to 14th streets was closed to traffic for three hours while a sea of “leashed and well-behaved Golden retrievers and their humans” gathered near Parfet Park at 10th and Washington Avenue for a meet and mingle of wagging tails, panting tongues, tan fur and selfies.
