It’s Silent Saturday. The first morning Jesus’ followers would see a sunrise without The Son rising over them... Maybe it was even the first day they had gone without hearing the sound of His voice since He’d called them to come and follow. I’m sure some were reeling, but hopeful. Some feeling completely lost. I imagine they were going over everything they could remember Him saying or doing and trying to make sense of it all. I think about the Father and why He raised Jesus on the third day. Why He might have waited. I’m sure there were a lot of reasons we can’t know right now, but I think maybe one of them is the quiet. The strategy of silence. Psalm 46 in the Passion translation says it this way... “Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.” #BestillandknowHim #remember #silentsaturday
