Final set on standing calf raises! The second to last exercise to complete my leg workout. Training legs always felt like an eternity, but it was only ever maximum 1 hour on the clock. I actually had this particular machine custom made with 1,000lbs on the stack! Plus, two bars on either side on the shoulder pad to fit even more weight! So here on standing calf raises for my working set of 1500lbs! In I stepped and drove up, pretty much on my tip toes with a huge squeeze and right the way down. Each rep being performed exactly the same unil failure was reached where I’d sometimes do partial reps to squeeze everything out. I actually went from 16.5inch calves to 22.5inch calves by training with just two exercises and total 2 working sets to failure once every 6 days. A massive 6 inch increase… proof that you don’t need to do more. Because one thing I’ve heard over the years is that “you need to train calves everyday because they are stubborn and you walk on them all the time.” Well...
