Textiles in Jaipur are INCREDIBLE! Like beyond stunning! 🇮🇳 My cousins took us to one of their friends 9th generation block printing factories in Jaipur and it blew my mind 🤯 I had heard of block printing before but never knew how it we done. All hand done and eyeballed. All the dyes are environmentally friendly so there is no smell and it’s permanent. Wood blocks are carved into specific patterns (and multiple to make something like a flower with multiple colors) and then you press a little bit of dye and stamp on to the fabric. It is such an art and the fabrics were beyond stunning. The boys and I took a turn at trying block printing and it was a lot harder than it thought to be precise with the dye amount and precision of where to place the designs. Eddie has incredible attention to detail and did an amazing job. It was so fun and we got to take home our samples.
