The door to a new #Subaru WRX STI has officially cracked open, as Subaru has revealed a Japan-only WRX STI S210 Prototype at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon. This S210 is promising in many ways, but just as disappointing in one big way: There’s no manual transmission option. Instead, Subaru says it’s fitting the S210 with its CVT. The rest of the car is festooned with performance upgrades, at least. Subaru uses the same 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four as the WRX, but it’s fitted with a new intake and exhaust alongside a unique ECU tune for some extra power.
