Owner and operator of Kith, a New York City-based footwear, apparel, and lifestyle brand, Ronnie Fieg is no stranger to the world of classic BMWs; he’s collaborated with the Bavarians on two previous sneaker-inspired model redesigns. Now, they’ve teamed up again to create an incredible example of the BMW M division’s mid-engined marvel: the M1. Fieg and BMW’s archival team set out to reimagine the iconic M1 with a catalog of archival, period-correct materials and the results are stunning. Starting with a 1981 BMW M1 E26, Fieg’s first order of business was focusing the build on the color of Techno Violet, the revered purple first introduced on BMW’s E36-generation M3. BMW Individual Black Merino Leather clads the cabin, while a touch of Kith individualism was added to the mix via a Kith monogram pattern. This patterned leather is featured on the center panels and headrests of both seats, the gear shift, door inserts, and floor mats. What do you think of it? Tap the link in our bio for...
