The folks at the #Toyota Motorsports Garage are bringing a 4Runner TRD Surf Concept to the 2024 SEMA show, and the build — an ambitious open-top SUV loaded with heritage touches — already has us excited to see it in person. Toyota is starting with a 2025 4Runner Limited, which should make it one of the first builds of the new 4Runner. The inspiration for the build goes back to the first-generation 4Runner that offered a removable top. As for the surfing angle, Toyota says it’s meant to reference the Hilux Surf that was sold in Japan at the same time as the original 4Runner.
