Happy Dove Season Opener! Bacon Dove Smash Burgers. Today is the opening of dove season in Texas. Fortunately, it fell on a weekend this year, but every year it feels like it should be a National Holiday even when it’s on a weekday! My good buddy s_l_brown told me about making some dove smash burgers last year, so I had to give it a rip. Shooting this for video was my first time and they were delicious! I ground around 15 whole breasts (x2 after deboned) + 5 slices of bacon in my madewithmeat and it was a great consistency for burgers. I highly recommend giving this a shot along side traditional poppers that most of us outdoorsmen make. Have a great weekend cooking outside, y’all!
