On St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Icarus took to thegroundnyc to celebrate our community of New York clubs and the city’s favorite holiday in equal measure. The main event of the day was a 4v4 tournament, with a pop-up shop, DJ (havax_music), and sideline kenwoodbeer giving those not in the thunderdome plenty to enjoy. Lesson: you can have all the St. Patrick’s cheer you like off the pitch, but all it takes is 6 title-winning teams and a pitch made for nutmegs to give your chill, friendly event a noticeably competitive edge. unitedgoalfc came home with the coveted St. Patrick’s Invitational keg, and the magisterial jessemoritz kindly caught the action on tape.
