Finance Minister Fayval Williams has cautioned the Opposition against disrespecting Toyota Probox owners in Jamaica, emphasizing their role in the workforce. Her statement comes amid backlash over her claim that saving J$2,000 per month for three years—totaling J$72,000—could help a Jamaican make a down payment on a Probox.
Addressing the Budget Debate today, Williams reiterated her stance, saying, “Be very careful that you don’t disrespect Probox workers.” She is also expected to use her presentation to challenge the Opposition on the credibility of its economic plans, reaffirm the Holness administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, and push back against claims that the government is misleading Jamaicans about its spending and debt management.
