Don’t tell the geese, but Portland is planning something new for the bowl at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. This is the area of the park that hosts Waterfront Blues Festival in July but is otherwise relatively empty, except for the occasional sunbather in the summer and the aforementioned gaggles of geese. Portland Parks and Recreation announced last week that Metro Council awarded the agency a $750,000 2040 Planning and Development Grant that will begin the process of redesigning the part of Waterfront Park just south of the Hawthorne Bridge and north of RiverPlace. Find a link to the full story in our bio. NOTE: The rendering pictured here is from a 2015 Portland Waterfront Pavilion proposal and is not the final design. It is currently being used for inspiration at this stage of planning. #portland #waterfrontpark #downtownportland
