✏️⌨️ Day 1 of the IPT CTA included a session about writing. Typically students who are unable to physically write or who only scribble are not seen as writers! Participants left with a better understanding and knowing that 100% of their students are writers! The presenters, Meghan Hyatt (VCU T/TAC & AT Network) and Dr. Daniel Biegun (ODU T/TAC) were so excited they had to snap a picture! 🤩 The truth is, there are several stages of writing development! Those stages include: ✏️ Scribbling ⌨️ Marks and scribble writing ✍️ Letter-like forms and individual letters 🖍️ Letter strings and name 🖊️ Invented spelling 💻 Conventional spelling 🙅‍♀️ Writing does not include tracing and copying, arranging symbols, or pressing a switch with a prerecorded message.
