You’ve determined specific tasks, you’ve looked at standard tools, and identified modifications, accommodations, or strategies that may support the student. Finally, it’s time to talk about specific assistive technology tools and supports.
‼️ Remember, as you consider tools and supports you’ll want to make sure you consider the features of these tools. First the team should simply create a brainstormed list of the tools you think might work before narrowing it down.
One of the tools that may be useful for communication is a speech enhancing device, as in an amplifier. This tool may benefit a student who requires voice amplification in certain settings due to low voice volume. This also may be a consideration for a teacher to use to help amplify their voice in noisier settings for students with hearing or attention challenges.
