Let’s talk about another tool that may be beneficial when considering communication: captioning! ‼️ Remember, as you consider tools and supports you’ll want to make sure you consider the features of these tools. First the team should simply create a brainstormed list of the tools you think might work before narrowing it down. Captioning is especially great for receptive communication. Using captioning is typically used for those who are deaf or hard of hearing, but it can also boost comprehension of others. You can easily turn on captioning when using Google Slides or PowerPoint in presentation mode when talking in real time. There are also applications that can help to do this on a phone or tablet. Turning on closed captioning when watching videos is also an option. 🗣️ Have you used captioning? Do you have captioning turned on when you watch videos? Tell us in the comments! #AssistiveTech #AssistiveTechnology #VATTS #ATConsideration #captioning #closedcaptions
