🤯 After 5 years on the job, 40% of Virginia teachers are no longer teaching in Virginia schools. VEA is currently working with and supporting locals across the state to win collective bargaining in their region. The more collectively bargained locals in Virginia, the more rights we have to make changes across the state, including our pay and the “other duties as assigned” that make teachers want to leave the profession. 🗣 Collective Bargaining is the ability and legal right of employees to sit down with their employer and negotiate the terms and conditions of their contracts/employment.
