By May 19, 2003, it had earned Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for surpassing 500,000 units sold in the U.S. Alone. Recognized for its influence and gritty East Coast sound, Complex later hailed it as one of the defining hip-hop albums of its decade in a 2012 retrospective.
