SLM 248 students traveled to Dublin, Ireland to gain a deeper understanding of Global Sport Perspectives. Dr. Melissa Chase, Sport Leadership and Management Department Chair, led this study tour. The week started with a walking tour of Dublin, where students were able to see iconic sights of the city like the Dublin Castle and the River Liffey. From there, they had a behind the scenes tour of the historic Croke Park and The Gaelic Athletic Association Museum. Afterward, they put their athletic abilities to the test by trying traditional Gaelic games, including handball, Gaelic football, and hurling—an experience that quickly became a favorite among the group. Midweek, the students continued their exploration of Irish history and culture with a visit to Trinity College, where they immersed themselves in the Book of Kells Experience and gained insight into this ancient ceremonial manuscript.
