If you’ve spent any time around the Air Force, you know the name Red Flag. But for the rest of the world, it’s a story I’ve always wanted to tell. It’s the pinnacle of aerial combat—where fighter pilots fly their first 10 combat missions in a high-stakes, two-week training exercise over the Nevada desert. By the time they leave, they’re sharper, more experienced, and ready for real combat. It was an honor to be part of the 50th anniversary of Red Flag and help tell the story of five decades of aerial combat expertise.
