Our first Focused issue of the year, Violating Juliet, is on stands tomorrow. Editor’s Note: This post contains reference to sexual violence. The name and cover imagery is a reference to the Juliet statue of Romeo and Juliet, located in Verona, Italy. The convention of touching the chest of the statue in order to obtain good luck and true love has, over time, turned her breasts from bronze to gold from the wear of human touch. Our Focused edition alludes to this historic image to represent the history and current reality of sexual violence, particularly as it affects those on our own campus.
