Meet WSO Board Athlete Representative, sararoset My name is Sara Toomey and I am a masters 35-39 athlete residing in New Albany, Indiana and lifting for Category 5 Athletics (Florida). Olympic lifting came into my life when I suffered a double hip fracture horseback riding at the age of 32. After a few years of trying to do both sports, I committed to weightlifting in 2018. When I’m not lifting, I work in the thoroughbred racing industry and have been in nonprofit sport organization management for 14 years. I also sit on the Board of a 501-c3 animal rescue in Louisville, Kentucky. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my cats, and growing cacti and carnivorous plants.
