Earlier today, I posted a video to TikTok addressing some of the comments on my latest feature for The Hockey News on how diverse the 2024 NHL Draft was, and I figured I'd also share it on Instagram. Love the praise that it got from fans but also not surprised to see the pushback on it. By now, if you don't understand WHY I wrote the article (credit to my editor at THN, Jon Tovell for putting the idea in my head on writing about three POCs taken in the top 10 and I decided to expand the feature to take a look at all of the players of colour taken) you'll never get it. All of these young and talented men of color deserved to hear their names called by NHL teams in Vegas, but pointing it out and writing a story on it shows how the game has grown and how even more players from different backgrounds can thrive in the game more than ever. I'll never apologize for writing features like this or ever stop. Expect more from me. #NHL #NHLDraft #DiversityInHockey
