ATHENS, Ohio, March 26, 2025 - At noon today Athens MidDay provided team coverage of a national story with massive local ramifications. A U.S. Congressional DOGE hearing Wednesday officially restarted a debate of whether to cut federal funding to Public Broadcasting. This would include WOUB-TV and WOUB's NPR radio stations. The Athens based company provides crucial news and educational programming to all of SE Ohio. Additionally our news neighbors helped train and prepare hundreds of Bobcats for broadcasting careers.
