Lifting heavier just because you said you did it can cause muscle strains, joint damage and even herniated discs. Train properly to reduce those risks. 2. Maximizing Muscle Stimulation Good form ensures the right muscles are engaged through the movement, leading to more muscle growth. When you lift with bad form you tend to use other muscles to compensate, reducing the effectiveness of the workout. 3. Long Term Progress. It’s never about what you can do but how long can you do it for and can you continue to improve. Lifting with proper form allows for steady and SUSTAINABLE strength gains. Relying on poor form just so you can lift heavier will make you eventually hit a plateau or suffer setbacks from injuries, slowing down your progress.
