Coming to Goodwood | 1965 Austin Mini Competition Saloon to ‘Cooper S’ Specification 🇬🇧
A highly successful historic saloon racer, this well-known Austin Mini has achieved numerous class wins and overall victories in various historic racing series. Badged as a Morris, the car was purchased by the current owner at Bonhams’ Oxford sale in December 2014. Shortly before that, it claimed a class win, second place overall, and the fastest lap at Brands Hatch with an impressive 58.7-second lap time—an exceptional feat for an FIA-specification Mini. Refurbished and upgraded by Gerald Dale Motorsport prior to its sale, the car featured a desirable Swiftune 1,291cc engine, a Maniflow exhaust system, and Koni shocks, with the engine having only been used once before the sale.
