The new law Gov. #KimReynolds signed last month effectively removes protections for transgender and nonbinary lowans against discrimination in housing, employment and more. In addition, the new law removes a section in lowa Code that currently allows a transgender person who transitions to receive a new birth certificate reflecting their gender identity with a doctor's affidavit confirming their transition.
