Crossing the block at Goodwood | 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello Coupé 🇮🇹 With the launch of the 550 Maranello in 1997, Ferrari returned to its heritage of front-engined V12 grand tourers, reviving a lineage that had remained dormant since the end of the 365 GTB/4 “Daytona” in 1974. At its core was a 5.5-liter, 48-valve V12 producing 485 bhp at 7,000 rpm—over 100 horsepower more than the Daytona. To achieve optimal weight distribution, Ferrari employed a rear-mounted six-speed transaxle, a design refined through decades of engineering.
