As a contestant I have the honour of fundraising for Cardiac Kids; "a volunteer group established in 2000 to raise funds for children who are suffering from congenital heart disease. One in 100 Canadian children are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) and more than half need surgery to survive. More than half of the patients who require surgery are under one year old, and almost a quarter are less than a month old. Congenital Heart Defects are the most common birth defect." Not only will every dollar you donate go straight to Cardiac kids, but as extra incentive, for every $100 I raise I will receive 1 extra point in the competition.
