Produced and primarily written by #JermaineDupri, the album was released on March 31, 1992, through Ruffhouse Records. The album was a major commercial success, reaching No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, holding the top spot for two and six non-consecutive weeks, respectively. Totally Krossed Out was certified 4× Platinum by the RIAA, cementing Kris Kross’s place in early ’90s hip hop history.
