Next up for #MaritimeDay is Safety Officer Efrem Ghirmai 🚢 Born and raised in Helsingborg, Sweden, Efrem began his maritime studies in 2016. He joined the #NatGeoResolution team during the ship’s construction at the Ulsteinvik shipyard in Norway. Initially serving as a Navigation Officer, he was promoted to Safety Officer last year. “Operating in such isolated environments means we must rely entirely on our own abilities, with no room for error in the chain of command. I consider myself fortunate to serve on such a magnificent vessel alongside a dedicated and exceptional crew. To be able to be creative with my drills and interact with the entire crew on a daily basis is the most fun and, so far, this is my favorite position onboard.”
