Do you ever feel helpless when thinking about the future of our planet? The ecosystems we depend on are unraveling at an alarming rate, with the consequences rippling across the web of life. The reality of living on a deeply connected, living planet is that you cannot tug at the threads of one species without all the others feeling the effects.
Take away salmon, and coastal forests decline. Lose the forests, and the carbon they once sequestered deep within the earth returns to the atmosphere, warming the ocean and planet. The scale of these challenges may feel overwhelming, but there is a hopeful side: because of our planet’s interconnectedness, even small actions can spark widespread change. We too are part of nature, and the small seeds of hope we plant can be felt across the world.
