When people see me, they see a professional basketball player. They don’t see someone who was diagnosed with dyslexia later in life. Someone who’s been through loss and grief. Someone who didn’t know how to ask for help. It took a while for me to realize I didn’t have to go through these things alone. I was lucky enough to meet people who had already experienced what I was going through and helped me move forward. That’s the power of peer support.
