First year to have raised beds in our garden and they were incredible! 💥 My brother built the beds using fence posts (bargain!) in the same side yard where my mom used to have a garden. We call it “Mimi’s Garden” and I always feel her with me when I’m out there. Gardening in Texas summers is hard, but my mom could do anything she put her mind to, and with her, so can I. ❤️ There’s a cardinal couple that lives in the blush rose bush she planted, which still blooms every spring. 🌸 Hummingbirds buzz around the little red Turk’s Cap flowers and we found a toad this year living under some tree roots. I always give him a spray from the hose when I’m watering the plants, and he always seems pleased. 🐸 The tomatoes were plentiful this year, overtaking almost everything else. 🍅 So it was definitely a #tomatogirlsummer at our house, though more in the literal sense than whatever the celebrities are wearing 😅 This summer was all about delighting in the small things, like warm, ripe tomatoes ...
