I told my husband he was nuts when he suggested we hike 300 miles in 2022 - the year prior we’d completed 150 🥾.

How we made it a reality, and DOUBLED our goal:
•
🗣️First WE TALKED. Talking about how we could make it happen— mapping out the time we’d need to spend to achieve it. ✍️
•
BLOCKING OUT TIME 🗓️. Evan worked out of town 5 days a week + commuted 12 hours, so we had to make the most of every moment.
•
☝️START SMALL— with short hikes around our home in San Diego, then working up to longer, bucket list hikes when we traveled.
•
🥳 CELEBRATE SMALL WINS - lots of snacks, late night tacos after long hikes, high fives, and words of encouragement!
•
And half way through the year, we’d blasted through the goal! So we set a new one— 500 miles 🥾.
•
Yesterday, on 12-31-22, we completed our 500th mile on one of our FAVORITE hikes (we knew we wanted to return here to finish ☺️).
