Even as we look forward to our goals in 2025, we have so much to celebrate from 2024. Color Of Change is focused on fighting for necessary change in the justice system, and we have seen wins in the past year that will greatly impact those in our community. Building on our efforts in 2022, COC lobbied for the Federal Communications Commission to stop predatory phone and video call charges to families seeking to connect with imprisoned loved ones. With the help of 25,000 Color Of Change members, the FCC voted unanimously to dramatically reduce these prices so that incarcerated people and their families can stay connected. To a population already facing overpolicing and overincarceration, this change is a triumph. There is more to do, but the impact of our Phone Justice campaign is cause for celebration.
