Breaking: FDA Bans Red Dye No. 3 After Decades of Controversy! This is great news as red #3 has been shown to be linked to cancer. In fact, this ingredient is so controversial that it already has been banned for cosmetics for over 35 years. Unfortunaley, these brands have until 2027 to get red #3 out of their food and drink products so be on the look out for it still in ultra processed foods.
