September is National Recovery Month. There are approximately 22 million Americans in substance use recovery, according to samhsagov. These people deserve support from their friends and families, but supporting someone who’s in recovery can be difficult. Because recovery is not a linear process and can be intense, it is important to be patient and refrain from making judgments about your loved one based on their recovery process. Healing is a journey.
