No one prepared me for how fully IVF consumes your life. The inability to plan ahead is brutal — and I don’t mean the big things in your future like a potential pregnancy (🤞🤞🤞)… I just mean that the ability to make a simple plan or commit to something like a dinner, a work event, or a friend’s wedding out of town goes out the window when you’re tied to your IVF clinic… indefinitely. It’s also frustrating and disappointing to have to miss so much and be so noncommittal with friends and family, and it’s why I’ve tried to squeeze so much into the short windows of time where I get a break from the near-daily ultrasound/blood draw/ monitoring schedule.
