Carlow footballers have hit back at claims of lack of commitment and 'player issues' in a statement released today. Manager Shane Curran stepped away during the week, just days before the opening round of the Leinster championship against Meath citing issues with players 'compounded' by some of them not returning with the team from London last weekend after their league game there. However the players have responded in a detailed statement today stating in part that the management were aware of the fact that the players involved would be staying in London after the game.
